  8. 3/4 tsp rice flour

  11. 2 tsp cooking oil
  12. 2 tsp minced garlic
  13. 2 tsp thinly sliced ginger
  14. 1/2 cup sliced onion
  15. 2 tsp chopped scallion (bottom part)
  16. 5-6 green chilli
  17. 1/2 cup diced green pepper
  18. 2 tsp chopped cilantro
  19. 2 tsp light soy sauce
  20. 1 tsp dark soy sauce (3 tsp light soy sauce in total if not available)
  21. 1 tsp dark vinegar
  22. 6-8 dried red chilli (deseeded)
  23. 3 tsp chilli sauce (showed sample bottle in video)
  24. 1/2 tsp sugar
  25. 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  26. pinch black salt

  1. Step 1- Preheat your air fryer for 400F.
  2. Step 2- Cut the brick of paneer into bite size chunks and put it in a bowl
  3. Step 3- Season the paneer with salt and pepper. Add ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp onion powder, ¼ tsp ginger powder, ¼ tsp Chinese 5 spice (sub with cayenne/chilli powder), 1 tsp chickpea flour, ¾ tsp rice flour, the give it a good toss
  4. Step 4- Add a splash of water and toss again. It will create a light coating.
  5. Step 5- Air fry for 12 mins(plus/minus few) at 400F. If you don’t have an air fryer, deep fry the paneer (skipping step 4) for 3-5 mins on med hi heat.
  6. Step 6- Lets make the gravy while the paneer gets fried. In a wok/pan heat 2 tsp cooking oil on med heat. Then add 2 tsp minced garlic, 2 tsp thinly sliced ginger, ½ cup sliced onion, 2 tsp scallion (white part, its optional. I had some cut up, so just used it), 5-6 green chilli (slitted, add more or less depending on taste) and cook till fragrant
  7. Step 7- Add ¼ cup of diced green pepper and cook for a min.
  8. Step 8- Add 6-8 dried red chilli (deseeded, more or less depending on taste) and cook for few mins
  9. Step 9- Add 2 tsp light soy sauce, 1 tsp dark soy sauce (if you don’t have dark soy sauce, just add 3 tsp of light soy sauce), 1 tsp dark vinegar (sub with regular vinegar) and cook for few mins.
  10. Step 10- Add 3 tsp chilli sauce (not Chinese style chilli sauce, these are more like flavored ketchup style ones. Sample shown in video) and cook for few mins.
  11. Step 11- Add ½ tsp sugar and cook for a min to balance out the tanginess.
  12. Step 12- By this time paneer should be ready. Add them to the gravy.
  13. Step 13- Cook for few mins. Let the paneer soak up some gravy.
  14. Step 14- Finishing touches- Add ¼ tsp cumin and a pinch of black salt (optional), sliced onions, some freshly chopped cilantro and cook for 30 secs. Add the leftover coating from the paneer mix. It will add a nice texture to the gravy. Serve and Enjoy !!
